The National Boatshow with JigStar Africa

I know there have been a number of threads started and put up about the Boatshow and us from JigStar Africa, but none have been started by one of us, so thought I'd just put one up to show you some pics and make a few very well deserved thanks:

First off the Thanks:

To Roy and Linda, my partners in crime. A massive thanks to you both for all the incredible hard work you put into making this show a success for us. All the hard work paid off and has put JigStar Africa firmly on the map as South Africa's premier Jigging and Popping Tackle company.

Also a thanks to Ryan Daynes, our graphic designer in putting all your wicked ideas and art into our stand. It paid off mate, with us taking Bronze for best stand, which was based on a number of criterior such as looks, design, product display, use of marketing tools as well as interaction with the public and the involvemnet of the public and how the public recieved the stand, so a big feather in our caps for that, and a feather in Ryan's for all his hard work.

A note of thanks to Joleeen and Wendy from Bizevents who put together the boat show for doing such a great job on the show, it was incredibly well organised and great to be a part of. Was great that you had us put together an article for the Splash Magazine on jigging for you guys as well.

To all the Sealiners who made it down to the show, was absolutely awesome to meet you guys. Gerhard, Zimbo Bimbo Ryan, Reefman, Kumz, Werries, Englesman Mark, Redhawk, Shagnrealease Greg, Tauruck Mikey, Mike Pike, and more... sorry if I left anyone out, and sorry I couldn't spend more time with alot of you guys as we were so manic alot of the time.... but thanks for all the great support and was awesome to meet so many of you and put faces to names...

Also wanted to put a big thank you out to the boys from ESA, namely Mark and Raymond. Was great meeting you guys and chatting and learning some new tricks and knots and having a laugh. Really was awesome to meet you guys and have you round the stand checking out the gear.

Also a big thanks to the Shimano/Rapala VMC crew who we spent alot of time chatting with as well, and who spent alot of time answering questions from us, and also spending plenty time being blown away by the tackle on show at JSA.

There was a great feeling between all the fishing stands at the show, with everyone showing great interst and support for eachother, which was a pleasure to see and be a part of.

Lastly and probably most importantly a big thanks to our product suppliers:

Chris W at JigStar for the INCREDIBLE rods and products. We would be nothing without Chris's incredible support and products which absolutely BLEW people away... Watching Springbok anglers, and TV personalities eyes pop outta their heads when we demonstrated the rods to them was one of the hilights of the show for us!

Alutecnos  Reels and Products: The true Ferrari's of the fishing tackle world. Thank you for your awesome support and service. Its an honour to be representing a company with the product quality and level of service as Alutecnos, and we are stoked to be able to offer their incredible products.

Ocean Revolution: JSA has managed to secure the agency for the incredible new line of Ocean Revolution Popping rods and were able to demo the first 6 at the boat show. These rods are another level of incredible, and a big thanks to Randy and Sami of OR for getting us the sample rods for the show, despite issues on shipments being held up. Randy and Sami organised for us to get the 6 samples in time at their own cost so that we'd have them in time for the show. We are proud to be the first OR dealers, as well as being the first company in South Africa to be able to supply truly top end Popping rods. We look forward to these rods whipping some serious fish over the next few months here in SA as well as all along the African coastline.

Cool, I think I've said enough for now, but a big thanks to everyone for all your support, and we look forward to maintaining our position as Africa's premier Jigging and Popping Specialists, and providing the best quality tackle and service to our customers and friends.

Many Thanks

Andre, Roy and Linda.

Ja, top marks to whoever designed your logo. Especially like the Africa/Fish design. We gonna see some Jigstar shirts maybe?

Pat - For sure buddy, shirts are already in the works mate. I came up with the concept for the logo and had Ryan Daynes of Soulshiver execute it and put it together.

We are looking at Tuna and Yellowtail/Amberjack options for the Africa as well...

Soon... just wanna nmake sure we get it onto good shirts, and hoodies. We all have a few Columbis PFG shirts with the logo embroided on the back which are amazing, so hoping those will be in the works soon too.

That stand was "All Class" just like the members who manned it. Guys, Thanks for the hospitality and congrats on the Award. May the next one be even better.

Hi Arrie,

Probably not mate, the Cape Town boat show unfortunately doesn't have much of a tackle and fishing focus so probably not.

We are however doing a demo at the False Bay Marlin and Tuna Club tomorrow night, where our gear will be on hand to be played with and pulled around. Please contact the club for more details and come join us.

Cheers
A

Lekke Nepps, well done...I remember looking at the Jigstar gear at the last social at HT'S house, fine equipment, the one reel gave me the impression of a V8 built into a mini, well finished off and looks solid like a rock! Could not believe that smooth and solid drag.

Always nice to market a decent product for a reputable company....

Thanks Steve. We are so looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow, really cool bunch of guys down there, yup C22 and the rest of you great guys (yes HT, you and Michelle are tops, hosts par excellance), and running on Masai for the 1st time (the BABE) is going to be awesome (assuming you Cape-ies organise the weather to play ball for the weekend).

Really looking forward to being in the Cape tomorrow - foul weather and all. (The "and all" was my Durbs roots showing.....)

Nepps/Roy your passion, your care, the way I "see" you guys here on Sealine, makes me remember: "Even if you do a small thing always do it with greatness" (cheap translation sorry).

You might just be starting but without doubt you are already an example to others in the business.

All the best!

Tre.... thank you for saying that. Hugely important - Thank You for saying that!!!!! A very important thing to us. The nicest thing that has been said..... Thank you!

That is EXACTLY what we are aiming and striving for. Great Product has to be supported by Great Service which we will continue to aspire to. And always focus on service and delivery better than anywhere else in the world - this we aspire to. We use the same gear that you guys do, fish for the same fish, off the same boats, and like you we wish we could could fish more and work less. Currently, we are fishing less and working more for fishermen (ourselves included).

Tre, thank you for the compliment. It means a lot!!!!

We're betting our lives on this business

Howzit Nepps,Royboy and the rest of the team , congrats on your award ...it is surely deserved! It was nice hooking up with you guys and may JSA grow from strength to strength. BTW Nepps ,I came right with my little Stella 5000. It was just the righthand fitting that scews into the handleknob that was amiss. I already received one from rapala and changed it on the handle...puuurfect!::S

Keep us posted on the apparel as I'm sure a lot of sealiners would be interristed
