Hiya metroFail,

A few year back I did some work for the National Library in CT.

They have copies of every publication, magazine and newspaper, going back to day dot.

Also went through a good number of Tight Lines. Then who remembers the Hengle/Angling mags. Think they went bang in the late 80's?

Great mag with greater South African roots...support them every month and have done since I was a teenager!

Thanks guys
i did realise after i had posted that, the front cover said volume 1 number 1, so that is the very 1st issue of stywe lyne ever printed.

@Trophy, i will def check that library out next time im in Cape Town, sounds like they have some incredibly interesting stuff.

i will have a look in the SAIAB library and see what other pieces of fishing history i can find. they have books on fishing going back to 1800
