Hi guys
Just a bit of interesting tit-bits. This weekend I went fishing with a relative to the South Coast.
THE GOOD......
whilst fishing in one spot I noticed some anglers fishing off a concrete pier and decided to cast my line.At first I was apprehensive to cast over the guys a line and was casting into a shallow...one angler came over to me and told me to cast into the deep over him and we sort out the tangle later...I was really impresses with this guy and later when I got a bite and pulled quickly another one the guys came over and told me how to wait and only pull after the rod went down.
Whilst fishing at another spot further down the beach we ran into a shoal of small shad. The majority of the anglers obeyed the law and put them back
THE BAD....
There were a few anglers who were targetting small blacktails and were keeping them. When asked why they were keeping them they replied..live bait...however by the time we left I did not see them use one.
THE UGLY
One angler with a group of his friends continued to cast his line across everyone else at a angle of approx 60 degs from his stand. This must have happened over ten time.
On one friends then came over me after another tangle and rudely indicated that he was going to cut my line if i crossed his friends line. After pointing out that his friend was casting across everone,,the statement was then made that it was their beach.
Again , as with a lot of posts it takes all sorts in the new south africa and the base of behaviour is not about of race but upbringing and respect for fellow man.

I often wonder if a change in mindset will ever occur.
