The first rig is used for shark and fish swim bait

Some time has passed since this very informative thread was started and one thing that has changed is that circle hooks have become more popular.

My question is; would the rig for swimming a shark change in anyway because of using circles.

Would you use 1 or 2 hooks?

Would you face them the same way of have the gape of the hooks apposing each other?

Would it be OK to put the hooks into the base of the dorsal & inter-dorsal fins rather than trying to get the point of a circle under the skin as illustrated?

I'd assume that the rig for a diamond would stay the same and the J-hooks would just be substituted with circle hooks.

Alton I don't think I will be changing my swimbait traces to circles simply because of the size of the bait and positioning of the hooks.

I have hooked up using a double circle trace (one in Dorsal and one in Anal fin) I used 20/0 circles with 3/0 hooks on 60lbs steel, these I hooked into the bait and the circles hung loose.

Problem is, how is the swimbait going to be eaten? Swallowed whole, chewed up and eaten attacked by a pack that chunks are bitten out and swallowed?

I've caught shark on hounds as swimbait where it was bitten into chunks and I have had (and seen) where the whole swimbait was swallowed. So which way to put the hooks in?
