I'd say it takes about two seasons and a lifetime to get to know the fishing in and around the Cape. The first season you are just winging it trying catch anything and therefore mostly nothing unless you are lucky. The second season you have a better idea of what bites when and where and actually start targeting fish with specific baits and specific times, your success will increase but likely all frustration since you would have though you figured out some stuff, creating some expectation, only to be proven otherwise by mother nature. After that it gets easier, but then you start wondering about what if... and where. Go fishing a bit further out for different species, and that's basically a lifetimes endeavour to do the rest... what a blessed pastime we have where you will never reach your peak and there will always be hope of catching something, or anything at any given time!
