After looking at both the mag systems on the market. Jmag and Mag it I though to myself. What is my need? and that will be ADJUSTING to fishing conditions. For me the answer were very simple than. JMAG!!! So I contact Johanathan.
Next day I dropped off the reels(Trini 20, Torium 20 and Torium 14) which was due for a service aswell. Just the two 20's must be maged. Collected the reels on Thuesday and looked amazing. Johanathan explained how to tune the mags and away I go. So Friday comes and of to Franskraal I go. No time for casting practice because all I want to do is Fish!!! Saterday morning not much wind, time for first cast with maged trini and newly spooled line. I'm always sceptic on that first couple off casts with new line because it might not be layer right. So decide to leave the mag locked.
Casted the rod and line sitting nice and tight on the reel. Perfect control. Second cast loosen the mag by one full turn. Still perfect control. ahhhh I getting the hang of this. 3rd cast loosen by 2 turns of the knob. Perfect cast and absolute control. Fished liked that for the rest of Saterday and Sunday in good fishing conditions. Feeling very comfortable with my setting. Monday morning comes and the SE is howling but decided to go fish anyway. Off to the Gruis and with the wind from behind casting is easy but no fish. So decided to go back to Uilkraals parking lot and fish there. Now its a differt ball game. Wind coming from the front and side at almost 20 knots. Adjustabillity!!! Turn the knob one turn back and there I go!! Cast for cast perfect! And that all for just the turn of a knob. I love this!!!
