I am taking my sons aged 10 and 7 on a fishing trip on the long week end in September. I live in midrand, where can I go? Now before you reply let me say this I`ve been to harties and grootdraai in the past and overthe years I`ve found the quality of the water and facilities deteriorating to such an extent that I don`t want my kids to go near. Now kids being kids,they love water.
The place that I would like to go to must have the following;
There has to be fish to catch preferably carp or bass or kurper.... I need to look good for the boys and impress them with my fatherly fishing skills
The water must be of good quality with few or no water lilys
it needs to be a dam not a river
it needs to be no more than 2 and a half hours drive( maybe 3)
it must be reasonably inexpensive or free, I `dont mind paying but sometimes you spend R1000 on entrance fees alone .Fishing is, after all a poor mans sport.
Does such a utopia till exist.... or am I being unreasonable
