Hi Herman , a friend and i caught the same fish in the komati river in October 2011. Was about the same size caught on a small spinner.

Caught this "Tank Goby" 2 weeks ago...I have been advised this is apparently a record size that I caught? Fish was safely released

Is indeed a tank goby and there are loads in the komati. Years ago there was an article in the stywe lyne and it was specifically them in the komati river

My lighties have caught them up to 25cm in the river near our house.

Hi Sonik-Mike that Goby looks 30cm+. Very big one!

I caught loads of smaller ones over December in the Mtentweni River mouth at Port Shepstone. Caught right below the train bridge barely 100m from the beach so water was pretty much salt. Aggressive and fun to catch on lure.
