Tackle boxes

What do you put in your tackle box? How many dips, traces ect. You can even post pictures of tackle boxes.

In my opinion the name thing is more a neatness issue. Although the selectors would propably not like it if you put the names of the dips on your bottles. I foud out recently that my tackle box(which was the next best thing 3 years ago) is a bit outdated because i still had 50ml glass bottles in. In the meantime i threw all of them out and only put in my top 30 dips in ball dip bottles.

The problem with that is that i have a big open space at the bottom where the ball dips used to be. I don't think it's the best idea to put in more trace cases because that will only make it heavier! So i must persuade the wife that it's time to get a smaller box.

Use to when I fished Nationals.............pos the reason I never got national colors after winning 3 days of 1st place in my zones!!!!

Er....no I dont have issues with Oom Selectors.....Why do you ask?

Yes you do. They won't select a guy who's tackle is not presentable, and i don't blame them, because the people they select must represent them at either provincial or national level. The other importaint thing is that you need to be proud of your tackle and your tackle box, it's like a showpiece.

There are however days when the fish go wild, which makes it totally impossible to fish hard and be neat, but i think the selectors will also take this in concideration when they judge you.

You should have seen the setups we used in 1995,96 etc. Nothing like it is today. The selectors for juniors those days were Ruben Papenfuss etc. Hennie papenfus's dad. He were a real treat when it come to neatness etc. Big fiberglass tackle boxes, iron stands(That weighs half a ton) 16ft Glass fiber Rods (Carel's for those who can still remember them) Magnum Snr's etc. The good old days.!!

Today's tackle boxes are a lot smaller, my current box has 1 drawer and the top, the dimensions are 500x350x350, 3 years ago i had it built, and thought it was small. I'm in the process of getting a new box built with the following dimensions 450x300x280, it's exactly the same size as the one above and has enough space for +/-130 traces if you stack the cases differently, 30 dips, 8 spare spools and some floaties + leader line. My days of lugging around those big boxes with the reel box is over. I want to make everything as simple and small as possible.

When I last fished there was one poxy trophy to the best presented team.

I have a batlebox. So on a league or club comp I would jus take the batle box and leave the big box behind. The complete set would go a long to the trails (should I eventually decide to go to bank angling trails).

The carp angling trails are just as bad. Also about neatness but more focus lies on "do you have the required equipment?".
