swells up this sunday according to windguru do u t

Massive swell but fairly long period. Kind of like Cape water. Not too much wind. Should be okay.

Only problem is it is still far away and a lot can (probably will) change.

Here is a trick you can employ. Over and above the wind speed. Take the wave period and divide it by the swell height. If it's greater than 3, should be good.

In this case 12 second / 3.4m = 3.5

You find them there often feeding on tiny sprats. They will eat nothing else..

Apologies to hijack the threat. I am a "Vaalie" and I am curious to hear from you gents that know the area how far one needs to travel from the harbout or skiboat club to catch decent bottoms? Thanks for the assistance.

Go to the Transkei to be honest.

.......with the price of fuel at the moment...I think from DBN you are going to cough a bit money to get to the Transkei.......

Just such a slep to tow a boat all the way to the coast. was hoping to hear that DBN could be reasonable fishing as Richards bay / Shelley is even a further 150km+

The bottoms in the Vaaldam just don't put up the same fight...no matter how light you go with your tackle....he...he...he..
