Suzuki Df 50 EFI peformance boost

HI Sealiners

I have 2x DF50 hp EFI Suzuki's on my deep sea boat.
The motors are 2007 models and 36 kw

But it seems to have a little lack of power.
It performs good in the water, but it could do with a little more of power for when you need it...
I already have power props on the motors

So I wondered if anyone may know of a plan to boost up the motors a bit.
Maybe by changing a chip in the ECU or by removing a restrictor plate (as I know it could be done with the 50 Yamaha, but not sure of the Suzuki)

So if someone may know of someone who did it before or heard of it before or even done it self before, I would appreciate it for letting me know!:)

I have a DF50 (2006 model) on the back of an old 14.6 Skivee and also have power issues,especially once loaded.I should probably have gone for a bigger motor but I must say that the fuel consumption is great.

We choose the days that we launch so it is not a major problem us.Nice living in Scotties..

Give us some more info on the boat. Perhaps the motors are too small. Are the motors not mounted to low perhaps. Simply having "power props" does not mean that you have the right props fitted. What are the specs of the props?

Hi, thanks for the reply's

The boat is a 17ft Unreel (which is quite a heavy boat for it size- 800kg)

The boat was at Boat cc in Nigel for some works on the boat and they said that the motor are on the right height on the transom.

I am currently running 3 blade 11 3/8 X 12R Aluminum  props on the motors, but after some research on the internet I discovered that 4 blade propellers will might give a better hole-shot.

So I ordered    10 3/4 X 12R Aluminum   4 blade props for the motors.
But due to the post office strike I am still waiting for the propellers...

Hi

What fuel consumption do you get? I just bought a 510 with 2 DF50s (2007) and would like to know what to expect?
