Surf Spinning Question: Loomis Archipelago 10ft reel pairing

I’m still pretty new to the group and just getting into surf fishing, so I’m keen to learn from you all.

I’ve recently picked up a Loomis Archipelago 10ft (3/4–2.5oz / 21–70g) paired with a Shimano Sedona 4000xg. I’ve only used the Sedona once before on a 7ft Shimano Scimitar (med-heavy) throwing spoons - ended up blanking on a 2-day trip 😑

I’m mainly looking to target shad, garrick, and similar species using spinning gear in the surf.

My question is: Is the Sedona 4000xg a good match for the 10ft Archipelago and this style of fishing, or should I be looking at a more hefty reel?

Any advice or feedback would be hugely appreciated!

ok so firstly I am also relatively new at drop shotting, I am currently running an Assassin 9ft 1-2 ounce rod with a Shimano Sedona 5000 which I think is slightly too big for this rod, I also have the 12 ft extra heavy version with an Okuma Azores 6000 reel and I am able to throw a 1-3 ounce lure pretty much anywhere where one would need to.
Based on my very limited experience I think you should be ok in most day-to-day situations with your setup.
you want a reel with sufficient capacity, drag and must be light weight enough for you to be able to cast 100's of times in a day whilst fishing. If you go too big then you will get tired.
My arm and elbow starts hurting when I spend the whole day on the 12 ft with the 6000 size reel.
