What's happening in Wilderness these days guys?
I'll be there from next Sunday (16th) onwards for 2 weeks and I'm keen to hit the beach a few times.

Anything good been coming out?

some nice steenies coming out at leentjies, have also heard of a few nice shad coming from kaaimans mouth, otherwise swartvlei has also been having some blue shad over 3kg, and plenty of grunter and leeries.

Fishing off the beach in front of the Views hotel the other night I got bitten off 3 times in a row.

The next day I went and bought some wire trace and went back to the beach that night to hopefully catch what had teased me the night before.

I got it - my first raggie ever, 1,1m long. I guess about 8 or 10kg.

Squid bait on a 5/0 hook with 40lb steel bite trace and 50lb fluoro leader with 25lb nylon main line. I was using a cheapie Okuma Fin Chaser reel and 12 foot Jarvis Walker beach rod. Caught just after low tide

Toestande lyk nie goed vir Wildernis area die naweek nie. Tafeltjie is 'n klein-vis plek (kolsterte, zebras, ens.) Nou en dan kom daar 'n kraker uit.

We got kob at NSRI some weeks ago, the sandbanks were lekke deurmekaar there, it has changed I know, as soon as I am home I will bel you to go gooi there again...wat dink jy?

 I re-surfaced to see an old thread revived by one of my 1st Sealine fishing mates (itsarap), so I am very glad to make contact with him again.

Lekkerrr ...... very keen, let me know when you around. Rifles all packed away and rods can come out now. Feel like doing a stint towards Joubert's !!??  :wfishWeather must start palying along though.
