Seems like you guys are the go-to's if it gets to fishing in gardenroute. I've not been to a coast in 7 years, but got the privledge of going to mossel bay for 5 weeks in des.
Please give me names of beaches where good catches are made, as i need to teach my wife to fish (propperly). Some directions to find "Leentjies" will also be welcome.
I've read books on how to read the surf, but its still gibberish, any tips???

jup it is! i think the more guys that go fishing the better. and it will create a community where every body knows every body and thus no more attacks on fishermen in our area.  viva la fishing community. :SSS

Hello

1. the river mouth is open.

2. there is a gully to the right of the mouth which could be productive, if not there you can fish in the mouth.

3. leentjies has a nice hole to the left of the rocks which could produce.

4. sandhoogte has 2 gullys not big or deep you going to fish high tide there. (and its a distance to walk to the spots.)

5. i dont know how joubert strand looks, but i'll find out for you.

hope this helps i'll keep you updated with more info.

have a nice day:SSS

good morning 26/11/2008 :SSS

report for today is the following.

1x cob just size, alot of sandsharks, stingray and regular sharks. The guys went at 02:00 this morning and fished around and in the mouth of touwe river at NSRI. the waters had a slight right curent and was giving a bit of a backwash. The sea was rolling in eavenly and no dumpers. There was a bit of fosfore in the water.
