Sufix hooklink products

Well guys, I know that Suffix is good for me, but it will not be to everyone's liking. Some points above are good ones. At the end of the day, you will only use what you feel confident with.
Maximus - if you're keen to try it, go for ot. If not - then you will never know.
One will never get everyone to use one product, if you could - life would be boring.........

I've been taking a long look at the "alternative product" ranges like Docks / Sufix etc........ years & years ago I bought rolls of the Kryston, ESP products. Thing is some would say its a matter of principal that they will not use the alternatives but truth be told if I look at some of the quality (yes based on the originals) I would use some of the stuff...

I'm particular when it comes to my gear but hey before my baitrunners & big pits I landed big carp with Okuma reels & handbuilt 2 piece rods

Here's the thing & I HOPE CARP PRO IS GONNA READ THIS: To each his own and personal preference and WHAT U CAN AFFORD.

One thing tho'- I've used the then Sufix Carp Specialist line in 19lb..just the other day I spooled the same line..come to think of it-that same line landed a winter 50lb Common, mmmmmmmm now what's the hype all about I wonder !!!

Basspro, its got alot to do with what you can afford sometimes, and personal preference is always in the equation.

I gotta say, I wouldnt buy the no-name stuff I see advertised by a certain Jhb-based fishing shop, that everyone's been complaining about...though... I've seen the stuff and if you want to buy crap, then buy no-name tackle... these guys prey on the inexperience of newcomers and sucker them into buying crap tackle! That is why i think these types of threads is so important.

I believe there is now a good range of affordable END tackle in available in SA as well as the more expensive stuff too. BFA and Docks have upgraded their range of end tackle, Sufix and then Fox, Kryston, ESP, Nash.... what more does one need?

hallo all you cheapskates!!!!

I'm a firm supporter of Mantis. The sufix just didn't feel right when I tied rigs with it. So I guess it’s a confidence thing. BUT a great thread like this I am thinking of giving Sufix another go.

Wanna talk expensive, got my hands on some triggalink a couple of weeks ago, cannot wait to try it out!!

U know guys: Some of U are NEW TO SPECIMEN ANGLING - ok a year or 2 or maybe 3 ...... forgive me for overlooking "YOUR EXPERIENCE" and what U can & can't afford!!

HOWEVER: Some of us have been in the game a very looooooooooooong time and used Kryston to Fox to Rod Hutchinson terminal tackle but really now- did I not say "personal preference and affordibality?" I don't see anything wrong with a "lesser quality" just 'cos one guy cannot afford what the next guy can .......... to give U an example:
My friend uses: ordinary 12lb Big Game as stiff link material 'cos he doesn't have "KRYSTON" & GUESS WHAT- HE CATCHES 40's .... & he had Inferior rods & no baitrunner reels .....

Come on now do U want to make this into a show that people see what U have or are you that vain ??

U will never see any of my big fish published - believe me they are big fish...I'm not that vain !!!

I bought some Trigga recently, also just to try. Made some rigs up and it looks interesting. But I keep asking myself if it will really make a diffs? Unfortunately it seems the well-known shop in centurion where I bought it ripped me off... they took some of the material off the roll, cos I only got 16m on the roll instead of the stated 20m! Thats what happens in SA when stuff is not sealed!!!! %*#($&!!!!

You can also use pole fishing elastic to make bungee rigs.

I'd rather use the cheap stuff and do some angling than not being able to afford the other brands and then end up not angling at all.

At least we all have the same goal, with various ways of getting there?

I have seen the name Gardner around in some tackle shops. How does this compare to the Docks and BFA names that are currently been debated?

I have used some of Gardner's session packs and was impressed. I have not used any of their hook link materials so I cannot vouch for that. Their mono is right up there with Fox Soft Steel and Nash Bullet XT and their alarms, don't get me started. I want a set of TLB alarms, a thing if beauty and waterproof. Even works under water. Just over R 600 each when importing directly, but will last you a lifetime.
