Sufix 832 ..

Hey Gents

I intend spooling my 3 spare GTE 10000 spools with braid. I heard good reviews on the Sufix & Climax range of braid...

Does one get the Sufix 832 in 1200m spools ? Anyone here used the Super Braid from Climax..the one before the Cult range ?

I would prefer a gud braid that casts well too - sinking properties is very debatable right now...What other braid would u advise ??

I've used the climax sinking superbraid 31lbs. I really liked its ability to sink quick.

But what I found very disapointing was the amount of times the braid snapped when tying the albright knot....made me loose confidence.

I bought some LC's before with 25lbs Climax Sinking braid on it. When tying on leaders I also kept snapping the braid. I then took a section to test and snapped it with my bare hands. I still made a video of it as I was a bit amused by it.

Very poor quality braid!

That might be a problem unique to the Climax sinking superbraid, since they use weakening polyester fibres to make it heavy enough to sink.I've had the 50 lb Br8 Monobraid on my reels for 3 years now,no problems so far.Doesn't break on the knots or the middle of the line, and I've dragged fair sized carp and barbel through some fairly serious obstructions, water grass, hyacinth etc.I use it for spodding as well, casts a mile with no wind knots,as long as the spool is not overfilled.

stick to floating braid...whiplash first...powerpro / berkley tracer / spider camo second.... the moment you get an extra feature you lose one somewhere...thats life

I Love Powerpro in 30lbs - excellent braid

I still have sinking braid on some spools, great for open water or no obstructions. However on snaggy wild waters, sinking braid can be your downfall big-time!

I'll say your choice of braid must equal your choices of venue - e.g...higher quality braid for bigger, snaggier waters .. mega fish..e.g "Power Pro"

I'll at some point fill my big pits with "higher quality" braid. Right now this is for my "light set-up' where I'm fishing for 20's and hopefully the odd 30' with not so many snags to hinder me......

I've done my homework as far as possible - read all the reviews on various braids and had anglers opinions so I'm sure I'll be happy with my choice of braid.

the albright is a horrible knot to begin with, try something like a bob sands ... you specimen guys like going fancy, then you might as well buy a bobbin and make a pr knot

lol thanks

But the point I was getting across was rather how easily the line breaks

Hi Bankstick,

I'm also looking at braid for my spare spools. My first choice was PowerPro but there is no 50lb available.

I also had a look at the Sufix 832 Carp and read some good reviews. Also guys fishing are very happy. They come in 600m spools and price also good. Also the diameter is 0.28 for the 50lb.

The only thing I'm not to keen on is the fact that its a sinking braid, but can work around that and fis mono when there is structure.

Give me a PM and ill give you the contact details for the braid if you are interested.

Hi Johann,

Isn't it 1500 yard/ 1380m?

I hear what you saying, but then it means I need to buy 1500 yard spools so I can fil my 3 LC's.

in my opinion

floating braid-

1-fireline 1000yards 14lb--breaks at 20lb- fits on lc perfectly-had mine for 6 years
2-whiplash-very thin my fishing partner has had his for 6 years
3- power pro also got this - 4 years-not as good as fire line but much cheaper

sinking braid

theres only one thats brilliant nash bullet braid sinks like a stone never have to us back leads

also got 832 have used it since it came out its not bad but not as good as bullet braid.for sinking qualities and no hassels with waves and wind then the nash bullet is brilliant, casts well as well.

ps ive got 12 spare spools for my lc,sand ive got different braid on the lot ,for different purposes.of the lot the fire line is the best,
