Success at last

Hey guys

I am so glad to report I have managed to
Break the blanking spell.

I started the day at Tiger rocks hoping to get
My quota of Shad reportedly coming out in that
Area. The sea was huge and looking very unfriendly,
I hung around for a while but the water did not
Improve.

I arrived home and after hanging around abit I
Decided to go up to Warners rocks where I have
Spent many hours throwing my plastics into the.
Empty sea.

On my first cast I was 'ON' and so it
Continued. I was dumdstruck,ok it was only blacktail
But it was better than blanking again. The rising
Tide forced me off the rocks. I did not mind
At all,I finished up with catching 8 in total.
The largest one 26cm and smallest 20cm.

I feel more confident now,I thought I was doing
It all wrong but now I know otherwise.

I'm just so glad I never gave up and to the rest
Of the aspiring dropshotters out there, don't
Quit,it will happen.

I will keep you updated on what happens tomorrow.

Hey Marty

I don't know if I posted this but I caught
A Kob or Daga of abt 8kg's the next mng.

This was while targeting Blacktail,unfortuanately
After sighting the Kob it managed to straighten
My hook and get away.

To answer your question I was using a Bandit
1/8 ounce leadhead,NO 4 hook and also a Bandit
Plastic. Black/Chart.minnow

Hi Fish-Hunter, nice catches.

i've been trying every morning up the North Coast La Mercy and WestBrook but very quiet. I need to break my blank now too.

I think tomorrow I'll try South Coast...

Hi Fish-Hunter,

Yeah hooking up sounds good, I however will probably only fish again next weekend.

I took a drive down to Warners and then on to Winkle rocks and sharks pool, but the tide was very low. I turned back and headed to Ansteys and Cave Rock. Spooned to the right of the tidal pool but nothing. (think all my lures are made from Fluorocarbon!)

Yes I too have broken my blank spell.

Was up at LaMercy Lagoon Sunday morning. Tide was low with a sand bank at midbreak, so I used my 6.6' rod in the channel running along the steep shoreline. Got two little Wave Garrick on a 3" Shad Chart Silver.::S

Very good fun.
