caught this at sheffield beach on red bait. weighed at 4.0kg

thanks bro

when i'm fishing on the rocks i keep my bait in there. it makes it easy instead of running back and forth.

did you catch the fish and what bait did u use,..

Salaams Salty . What is red bait ?. Never seen it and I thought u only get it in the cape area . Where do  u get it from and what does it look like . If someone could pleez post a pic . Thanks .

@ brusherking, caught it right of christmas bay. we call the place long channel. plenty of rock fish as well.

ws munoo. red bait is those things on the rock that squirt water and also is soft. we cut the leathery pouch on the rock and remove the "red bait" which is actually orange. next time i'm there i'll take a pic of the red bait.

make sure you have your general bait licence for this bait and you only allowed 2kg which is more than enough.

A.K.A stinkaas! when this stuff is ripe u tend fish alone! found some at langebaan once and it was so old it was nolonger red and the smell chased all the fish away!
