Easter weekend came, and Easter weekend went, and as usual it was a crazy time in Struisbaai. The weather played along very nicely and a lot of anglers were seen with rods in hand on the rocks and beaches, and a lot of boats ventured out to sea. The results were varied though - good bottom fish at the 12 mile bank with loads of silvers and very little action on the yellowtail and tuna front, some nice catches of cob at the inshore spots with 1 boat landing 3 cob over 20kg. Wep had 2 of 6kg each and Reza.Omar his personal best of 5kg.
Wep, Stef, Namreh and a few other http://www.overbergangling.co.za members were active in Struisbaai and between them managed a few excellent catches including 3 bronzies of around 15kgs each and some smaller ones, a duckbill of 77kg, a number of elf, stumpnose and even a gallie and a smooth hound. Reports of a 200kg + raggie landed from Struisbaai harbour was confirmed and we believe that between the cob landed at Die Plaat one of our members lost a huge cobbie of around 2m right at his feet. Dudley reported some big cob at Die Mond and according to karlito187 the elf was plentiful at Arniston.
