Struisbaai 5 species comp

Hi Guys for those of you who were fortunate eneough to have bee at the struisbaai 5 species comp hope you guys ejoyed it just as much as we did.

Fishing wasnt that great but we were able to land a couple of small sadsharks and some realy small cob,of which all were released to grow and fight another day.

Posted are some pics of the rather small species we caught.

Matthew, for me and the team I fished with, it was a great comp. I came 2nd overall and the team also. Had also the 2 best ladies in our team 1st and 2nd in there class. We caught about 14 Belman of a nice size between 2-3kg class and 1 cob, a lot of sandy's, 3 smoothhounds and a few Blue Rays. Prizes varied from rod's, reels and cash. Some days you win, other days you just look. In the Kayak class a 9kg Leerie was caught by Sean Wetmar and the day was won by Brian McFarlane( I think). Untill next year.

Yes I saw the leerie the guys caught off the kayaks ,didnt hear who caught that steenie very nice though.

Congratulations !! well done it definately wasnt a cracker jack for fishing for most of the guys and to achieve 2nd place over all ,well deserved.

We are looking forward to the next one.

Got smashed last night by something big not sure what it was but we were fishing for edibles using red bait,must have been a big cracker or maybe the Galjoen of a lifetime.This fish didnt give slightest hint of a bite it just took off bending my rod vertical peeling line off my shimano torium at full drag,couldnt losen up the drag in time what a great and  k#k feeling at the same time.

I normally never set my drag as tight as ducks ass ,just didnt pay attention but paid the price, raging adrenalin and emty hands.

I see you like fishing the Tsitsikamma Coastline there are same amazing spots as you know unfortunately I cant reveal the one we were at last night ,if you know what I mean !
