STROPPE!! HELP NEEDED

Howsit guys

I have quiete a few questions!

#1: Whats the best size hooks and make of hooks to use?
#2: Whats the best breaking strain line to use to build my stroppe?
#3: whats the best colour line to use on my stroppe?
#4: Whats the best make of line to use for building stroppe?
#5: And whats the most effective stroppe? Reitvlei/ babyshoes........... ect.

All help will be greatly appreciated!

Lots of info on the forums. All your questions have been discussed in depth, search a bit & you're sure to find heaps of info.

Best is to find what works for you, but the trends are as follows:

1. Most guys are going with size 1 or 0,8 Daiichi, they're small for catching smaller &/or bigger fish. Generally, smaller fish are a bit harder to catch with bigger hooks. Personally I fish with smaller & bigger hooks - bigger coz I find it a bit hard rigging a small hook with a big bait when targeting bigger fish, e.g. two large floaties or even one large floatie with backing, but that's just my take.

2. I would say around 10kg/22lb

3. Brown

4. Double X

5. The Gly Rietvlei seems get good ratings, IMO a normal Rietvlei is good enough. Baby Shoes has worked well for me as well.

There's really no teacher quite like experience, go thru the paces & you'll find your footing soon enough.

You see the problem i keep getting is my hook link lines dont stay straight thats why i asked but thanks alot guys going to go play around this weekend at the vaal a bit!

3. Camo, brown or green.
5. I've used Rietvlei at every venue I've fished and never had any problems.

Make a lot of rigs geforehand. When the hooklinks get curled or the hooks get blunt, just use a new rig and discard all the those old hook and hooklinks.

If your hooklink tangles with your sinker line, use the "anti tangle" sleeve the Specimen guys use. They are cheap and really works.
I build new rigs after every session.
