As far as I know the Strand Reefs are closed to spearfishing,but might be mistaken.
Pity as there could be some very nice diving to be had there in shallow water when it is clean.

Is there still no solid awnser on this question? looked at my "fishing guide" pamphlet from the post office and it does not say anything about the areas such as Blake's? Haven't seen anyone diving there before, but it will be really nice shore dive if you're able to dive there.

From the security fence next to the Lourens River to the Southern break-water of the fishing harbour at Gordon's Bay (500m seaward) only rock and surf angling are allowed
So if I use my Kayak and paddle out +/- 500m and then dive, I am within the law? and the cliffs from G-bay to Rooi Els looks to be legal.
