The magical skippy ( giant herring )has been my nemesis over the yrs , cracked the magical meter mark when I was 7 on a live bait in the Gulu river , unfortunately got gill hooked and died . Think it was a bad omen as it has taken over 25yrs to land another one and it was my first on lure .
I have hooked a few others , but they have always managed to shake the hook during there flight mode .

Iv spent hours targeting them in the local swan river , but for some reason just can't seem to crack the code .
Have had better luck sighting and getting a few hook ups up north in exmouth , hopefully on the next few trips it will be a bit more skippy friendly .

I think many SL's has said it before but when a lure seems to work or look good , then its a "must have" in the lure box...........

Between 3 of us we ordered from the STORM range nl. the

Thanks for the heads up , those prices are very reasonable - the storm lures are a 1/3 of the price I'm getting them here for .

Is die So Run sinking pencil net so effektief soos die Flutterstick? Ek het albei en kry amper altyd ten minste n jaag op die Flutterstick. Kan egter nie dieselle s^e van die So Run.

Why fix something that is not broken soos die engelsman sal s^e?

Okay ek trek my woorde terug. Baie mooi visse daai Spin. Gebruik jy dieselfde tegniek met die So Run as met die Flutterstick?

Ek het die een in die foto. Dalk sukkel die visse om hom te sien? Daai pienk een in jou fotos lyk asof hy beter sal werk.

Daai So Run is dodelik. In een sessie twee leeries met hom gekry en een verloor. Dieselfde sessie ook drie leeries op n klein Heddon gekry.

The pink So Runs are leerie magnets. Even had moonies chasing them, but couldn't hook one. I think the lures were too big. I got the smallest CID Shiverstick that I plan to present as moonie lunch in summer.

Anyone successfully targeting moonies on lure? I'd love to catch me one of them buggers.

I have never done fly fishing. It looks way too complicated. They were grabbing at the So Run, but given the fat profile of the lure and the rather big hooks, I failed to get a hook up. I think the little 6.5cm Shiverstick is the perfect size for them.

Have you caught them on fly? Apparently they are one of the leeries' favourite snack in the estuaries.

Caught a fair number of moonies on 5-7cm lipped lures in Transkei - seemed to like structure close to the side, particular favourite was the remnants of a sunken small boat

I noticed how they started chasing the lure when retrieved over or past the structure they use as hideout. They are fast little buggers. Did they put up a good fight on the tackle you were using?

was mostly 4 - 6 pound braid and leader on either 0-7 or 2-10g rods - my go to set ups at times for the river there I was fishing a lot - small bream, snapper, kingies, pick handles, grunter etc. Moonies were also aggressive little buggers
