Stiebel Rock Fishing

I have just spent 2 weeks down there and fished the northern tip of Stiebel on most days.
The fishing was dismal to say the least besides for a few small Diamonds. On a few occasions the shad did come in off the front point. I did see quite a few smashes with snoek and YFT smashing red eye but it was just too far out although I heard of one or two snoek coming out before I got there.
On the one day a guy did flook a 12kg Garrick - He slid out a mackie which was picked up by a shad - while he was bringing in the shad the Garrick picked him up.
Last friday and Saturday the Shad were quite thick ( for the first time in two weeks) off the beach in front of the Pumula hotel so maybe the fishing has improved off the point. While I was there I did not have one pick up on the big shark baits I slid off the point.
