Here are some nice handmade stick baits for Bennie.

I don't know what wood the guys used but they look nice IMO.

Andre, I don't know jack about these stick baits but do you like the shape of 4 and 5, the colour or both?.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

Mikey,
You the man!
Must agree post #4 and #5. The Darters are also nice! Not sure about the lip though... Need to chuck one with and without!
But all of them would have their own merrit. Pencil baits which the top ones resemble are good too.

But ya, I recon roll with something along the lines of #4 /5 first!

When do we start rolling buddy?

Mikey,
Something to bear in mind. First off you do look at a general design of a lure to give you an action but more often the appearance of the lure is not to attract fish but more so the angler. That one in post 4/5 has a wickid shape and although it looks very good, it hase one problem. A sold colour. The coulour should be broken in my opinion and you could do this in many ways. Some guys paint bands on the stich which is quicker and easier to do when you are trying to mass produce them. But I prefer the "natural" approach. Give it a light belly dark on the top or even better some variation on the sides but trying to immitate scales etc.

Check out post 8,9 and 12. That is some cool colours.

I love the shape of the one in #4 and #5.... looks like it would have good action, and looks nice and solid... dunno how it would behave, but I like its profile and solid build....

I also really like Dark coloured lures for some reason, love Black poppers and Stickbaits... but thats me, not always the fish! :)

The others in the top few are more like Pencil baits rather than Stickbaits, and have a wicked darting action, especially great for shallow waters I think... in really deep waters, for GT's and Snappers at least, you would want something with a larger profile in my opinion to pull them up from the deep....

Tell you what though, anywhere that you get Ballyhoo/halfbeaks and Garfish, those pencils would be the business worked fast and darted across the surface!!!
