You reckon? Eishh, now u are dampening my spirit, but i guess u guys knows the ins and outs. Appreciate your comment. the thing is that the last time i wet my lines was in November last year and i caught nothing and i still have that anger and planning a revenge. I will see how it goes. but if it is really cold, i will cancel an wait for summer time. what spots do u suggest i can go to before winter hits us? Im based in Joburg South, Ormonde.

Try the warmer parts in SA, lowveld, KZN, carp, barbel and bass. Albert falls, Harties, Roodeplaat, Rusterwinter, Buffelspoort ... I have been at Sterkies in winter and it was very difficult.

Hey guys...i have been to the dam, recently. The darkness of the water is caused by the depth of the dam. There are planty fish in the dam. A day trip resulted in a BLANK day. Determined, we retured for a night trip...38 fish in total, 27 mud suckers 1-2kg range, 7 carp 2-4kg range, 4 yellowfish, biggest been 4 kg's. Its a beautiful dam, however it can get extremely cold there. Its a dam that has given me much action. I'd recommend it!!thought im not sure why the mudsuckers were biting that much?any thoughts?:clap12

Wow Shiv. Congrats hey. Was it the first time going there? did u have a boat? did u over night? What spot were u at?

Im off to the dam today. packed kit and ski's and im gonna fish that dam till i catch one of everything in it!

You guys make me bleed inside. But you know what, atleast you have motivated me to go test Rus n Oribi tomorrow. Just confirmed with the madam that she will join me. Big Mat catch one on my behalf there. cant wait for your pics and report as to how it went

Staying at Alpine Heath on the weekend of the 17th July. I'm pretty sure its gonna be tough, but always wanted to have a go there so we'll see. Where would you guys recommend for bank fishing during the day? I'd prefer lure fishing and softbait stuff, unless they're taking something else that is... Any direction would be apreciated!
