Hi all

We are off to St Lucia for 2 weeks from the 17th.

Any tips or help.

Is the mouth open? what's biting?

Besides Vidal, where are some good beach spots in St Lucia?

Any recommendations for a days deepsea charter?

All help appreciated

Thanks

Hi my" Favorite Beer"

The mouth ain't open, and doubt that it will open anytime soon.

There is Mission Rock, between Vidal and St Lucia that you can fish or First Rocks about 6km walk North on the beach.

What species you planning on targeting?

Damn, I just spend a fortune repontooning my boat for this trip. Is the estuary still worth a boat shot? Or simply Vidal deep sea?

I don't think the estuary on a small pontoon is worth a try, unless you wana play with some crocs and hippo's. Fanies Island, Charters Creek, Hells gate: The last time i heard they were inacessible due to drought. However, i do not know if it's still the case.

Rather fish from the shore or estuary, but be very carefull of the crocs. They are renoun for tacking people hostage for live.:fbash

Fish the ledges around Vidal (Were they lounch the boats) for same wavyies ans kingies. That should be your best bet.

The estuary itself can produce, if weather permitting. Just stand well away from the shore and you should be OK.

What type of species you wanan Target?

Hooch, I have a 6m duck, been in that estuary many times, even been chased by hippos - great fun.

As for target specied - just general fishing with my boys 13 and 5. Last year the spot next to the ski boat club was awesome, but the mouth had a small opening!

Boat wise, the spots just up from the bridge were good for Grunter.

Launch wise, Vidal on a good day is a brfeeze and awesome.

Surf wise is where I need the most help. Carting all the goodies for 3 fishermen up or down the beach is not pretty. If I can find 1 or 2 good spots with a nice quick walk - ideal

Thanks

First spot i would go for is Ingwe Beach. Park your car next to the toilets. Walk to the beach from there. There, to your left is a gully that produces some good catches of Wavies,Kingies and Kob.

Second Spot is "View Point". Also walk to the beach and as you hit the beach, just to your right is anathor gully that produces some good catches.

Third Spot is were they lounch the boats from. Easy reconisable with the grass standing on a small hill at the back. Park your car at the mouth, and walk directly South towards Maphelane. Go past the mouth about 600m and you will find the spot. Skrops, cought a sandy of 42kg there, this year January, so go and give it a bash.
