St Francis

Went to St Francis today. West was blowing so started off at Neville rd. 1st cast was made and while I was busy preparing bait I heard my reel running. I picked up my rod and felt something solid.

Turned out to be about 10kg of seaweed. Seriously it was impossible to fish there. Every cast turned out the same - seaweed with tangled line.

Moved a bit towards Anne ave and found a good spot. Got a couple of blue rays, lesser sandies and a small bull ray.

Here's some pics

Also caught this, which kinda spoiled the day. Some anglers just spoil everything

Caught my pb blue ray on a sl20sh fitted to a 10ft loomis. Was one hell of a fight - about 45 minutes.

GEEZ THE COLOUR OF THE WATER LOOKS RIGHT ......

if you stress about the EC boys being messy you should see some of the WC spots , if i would rate that bush of line and dead birds ect ect i would give it a 2 out of ten , however down here in Falsebay you get 15 out of 10's you name it i ve seen it all , beheaded penguins , strangled tobies [not puffers ,the bird ] dead dogs tangles in line , tampons ,condoms MILES of line , fresh turds floating , and of late we saw a couple of chickenheads ....
must be some kinda slaught bush somewhere near Macs .

anyway , look like the weather was nice !

The water does look good. Pity I can't be there tonight. Pretty sure the kob would be on the bite. Water temp was around 19-20

Thanks Kumz

Maybe, felt like one and have seen a lot of diamonds coming out at anne ave, but the pickup was a bit too quick with a long run

With the spring high I reckon you can slide a nice big bait from the parking
