Spoon

Evening fellow Sealiners.    

 

My father-in-law recently went through his tackle and kindly gave me a spoon that he bought 20 years ago. I replaced the hook to a smaller mustad no 3 Short shank, new rings and a power swiwel in the front.  

 

What fish do you target with this spoon, it has curvy lines at the bottom and I have never seen one in a Tackle shop. At the top of the spoon it has a number 4.

think you can try use it for shad. they take anything shiny most of the times

Thanks Roland, hope the Sards come in this year when I am in Margate, will polish up this old one with some metal polish.

I call em 'v-flats' and have used em to successfully target Garrick, Shad and Cob.. Each specie however requires a different retrieval method but they are very effective..

I have also used this spoon with great success. Have caught various species of Kingfish, Cuda and even yellowfin on it. Obviously all from the boat.
