Spinningrod combo

Hallo

I am going to Mozambique on Thursday for the weekend. We are going to Calanga which is about 90k's north of Maputo.

Anyone been there? What fish can you get up there? I would like to buy a spinning rod etc.

Any recommendations please. I don't want to break the bank seeing that I am not going to the see that often.

Which Rod and Reel?

Lures?

I have read Neilg's posts great reading. But for someone totally new it is a bit confusing.

Yesterday a n tackle shop to different sales persons had 2 hugely different opinions. The one said I'm in for R 3000 - 3500. The other said I can put something together for about R 1500?

Here are two options: shimano Vengance rod (8ft) which is excellent value, or a 7' shimano Trevalla ML - actually a light jigging stick, but a brilliant spinning all -rounder, if you want to spend a little more. Pair with something like a Shimano Sahara 4000 and some 20 or 30 lb braid and you're in biz with a quality combo that versatile wont break the bank. good luck.
