spinning reel service how to

Howzit everyone

Tell me, how much detail should I go into when doing a how to ?

I know my reels fairly well, and have started working on service how to's for sealine

Should I go extreme, or not concentrate on too much details, with a few pics and very little writing

Put it this way, I'm about halfway with a shimano slade and have done about 15 pages

Pls tell me

Hi Neil

I'm in no way a expert on grinders/spinners, but a couple of people told me they are a bit more involved  than your normal multiplier.

So I guess 15 pages must be quiet an involved tutorial/how to.  I would say post it as you have done it, if someone doesn't understand a specific part/procedure, he can always asked the friendly chaps at Sealine.

The more detail the better! Some of us have zero technical ability and if you dont remind us which way to turn the screw driver we get confused. Big ups to you NeilG

i cannot wait to see how to service a shimano, I have a Sedona which I am to scared to service because i have no idea where to start.

I find servicing and cleaning spin reels much easier than multipliers. Would be nice to see the how to on diff models tho

I'm busy with the slade, then the exceller

I have the following reels, which is required sooner ?
1 slade 2500
2 exceller plus 3000
Then
Spheros 12000
Stradic 8000
Oceano 4500
Abu soron 60
Regal 2500
Shimano hyperloop 4000
Shimano sidestab 4000
Rovex sillun 3000
Penn captiva
And a few other, must check where they are

Going into a lot of detail and explaining a lot of things which makes it take much longer than I anticipated

Slade about 75% done, another day or so

Won't go into so much details on the rest, cause its covered in the first one, will become repetitive

I'm not just explaining how to do it, but also why

Once a person understands how and why they will be able to do any spinning reel

neil, what do you think of the sidestabs? got 2 but never used them before.

Haven't used mine for a long time, always used it to catch grunter

Nothing bad I can say about it

I've serviced some of my reels myself, slade/alivio/sweepfire/regal are easy-ish, but the rear drag reels I would be keen to see.

At the outset thanks a mill Neil for all your valuable contributions to Saltwater Lure Angling- I got a Oceanos 4500 and cant wait for your Tutorial on how to service it.
