I have been looking for a rod for surface / sub surface stickbaits and popping for couta for lures up to 90grams off a boat, preferable longer than 7foot.
I have not been able to find a rod for 20 to 40 pound braid for 6000/8000 Shimano size spinning reel. Couta and Prodigal son /cobia up to 20kg

I dont want to by a PE4-6 rod as I won't use it

Any suggestions for the rods, tackle combo's
Thanks

Hi I love my assassin duel zero medium 8ft, also available in 7,6ft. One of the most versatile rods on the market, great for jigging, popping and everything in between. Incredible pulling power for such a light rod, would match a 6000 shimano well. Fish mine with quality 30lb braid

Don. Will this rod cast lures of 3oz weight? Spec sheet states only 56g. The next rod up is a PE5 rod casting 100g. Maybe then 8000 saragosa

Seems that you want to be very specific regarding specs.
the best i have found is a rod of 8ft in length.
the okuma popping rod works lekker.
i paired it with a penn clash 6000.
we cast white metal spoons for couta. and at times some stick baits, but prefer the spoons
its a lekker all round rod.
it is also cheap, but the newer ones are a bit more expensive.
we also use a shimano oceana bb 7.6 rod. which is much more stiffer. it is paired with a daiwa bg 5000
