Shad, shad, shad, shad, odd garrick and you might just catch a shad if youre lucky:) ok in all seriousness, if you spin the point in summer when the water is really hot you might get a nice big white kingfish or santer.

Iv got the setup and it is great for throwing small baits a long way. If you actually spin with it a lot you will catch fish. But the setup does cost a few bucks. What you looking at getting?

havent really looked into what to get..just seemed like a cool way of fishing when you dont feel like taking all the tackle and baiting up...probably shimano reel with the kingfisher or exage rod

"Very productive" isn't the term I would use, but you could try the Krom mouth. It's a good bet for leerie and elf. The surf around the mouth could produce a cob or two if the water was right.

If you can get to the point at Cape st francis you should be in business. Again elf and leerie should be around, and if you are very lucky you might even get a yellowtail.

so thinking along the heavier lines? I spin with a 9ft and its nice and light and comfortable to use. Get plenty distance too. If you wanna target yellowtail at the point then heavier would be best

Nope :'( never targeted them. I think I fish too far down from the point, you throw onto a big sandbank from the kommetjie, its slightly shallower than the platform. I dont think the 'tail will come that far down? Personally I havent seen yellowtail at that point, only seen em at the lighthouse point and further to oyster bay and huisklip. Maybe I'll get lucky one day. If i get a livebait it always goes out with the intention of hooking a gamefish. Its only worked once so far, but with big reward:)
