specimen reels

Beginner Fisher

I've started specimen fishing and I almost got all my gear the only thing I still need are 2 reels and line I'm in a budget of about R1000 per reel can someone please give me some idees, I'm thinking in the line of a docks Trophy 12000 or the shimano dl 10000RA my other problem I'm not a distance caster and lastly what line combonation do you guys recomend

I would personally stay away from the Docks

the shimano DL is nice, but at some point you will fish a big venue, and retrieving line will make you arms HUGE lol..

I hate to say this, but maybe look at the Daiwa CrossCast, front drag, big line capacity

I agree with BOSS, stay away from Docks. Also true regarding the DL's. I have them and they are tiring at long distance fishing - Luckily I have only like 1 good session a year so for the rest of the time they are great.

I had a friend that fished with the Avorunners, they are nice, nice line cap as well, but my buddy went into the water with em in donnies to land a fish, after he got out with it the reel sounds like the very old coffee grinders,

if your budget is 1k, take my advice, get the crosscasts, you wont be disappointed, call All out Angling or Ganis in Witbank
