Spearing the cape snoek.

I am trying to find out if i can take on a school of cape snoek. If anyone has done it please can i have a few tips. Do i use flashers?
I have been told that they attack spearos. Is this true?

I've shot them... certain places are better for them (Dassen and Rockies to think of)... you need to chum them close to the boat or sit in the chum line of a comercial (very dangerous!!!as they are not that friendly) and use a flasher...
they are very skittish but you should gey an opportunity....
it helps having someone on the boat letting you know there's a good reading on the fishfinder as you are generally diving quite deep...
