Hi Guys,

Anyone know what's happening on the South Coast (Greenpoint, Bazley, Sezela, Pennington). I will be spending the weekend there with family.   Info regarding where to fish & preferred baits will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanx read the article and phoned Happy Wanderers, lots of rain over the weekend but no damage on that part of the coast, seems like it was restricted to the Amanzimtoti area

Yip, Toti got a BIG klap on Saturday night!

As for the fishing, went to Rocky Bay on Saturday morning and picked up a few small shad in the bay (all returned safely) on drop-shot.  Fished off the rocks with bait but nothing biting.

Hi guys,

Trip in Jan wasnt all bad. Nothing to shout about though. A few of us were there over a weekend. we got some shad, a few blacktails, banded galoen and stone bream. Smaller edibles were the order of the day.

Hi MarkW, I agree what a awesome place! Wife went there as kids and got me "hooked" on the place for the last 3 years and down there this year also 4 - 22 Dec.

You should then know all the spots to fish? 45 years of fishing there you must have lank to teach me about HappyW, please let me know about the good spots and what to target where with what?

Yeah man .. as the beach changes and the Sand banks move the spots change .. the sand bank builds up off the point (toward station side) and stretches North.. sometimes to front of lower ablution. But great area off the point at incoming tide (I usually spin over the rocks there.. easier) Then as we call it Fuku Bay (On right of park or basically as you come out of the park at the lower South End) good for early morning shad and night Salmon. Also basically half way from the park to Umzimai River .. a (rocky outcrop) good for King and Prodigal also at the Umzimai. The Station is also good .. As I say all depends on the banks and the beach. Just North of the flats and past the lagoon is also a good spot. I usually spin from the river to the point to see how the action is .. then choose a spot. M oldman says mainly shad at mo and a few bream off rock .. couple of Salmon a few weeks back ... HAVE FUN !!!! ENJOY

Great !! So Fuku Bay is there by submarine rock? on the most southern tip of the resort by the little permanent house in the caravan park on the beach? You say that this bay is good for salmon (kob?) at night where else is good for kob there?

"Also basically half way from the park to Umzimai River .. a (rocky outcrop) good for King and Prodigal also at the Umzimai"......Umzimai River is where exactly? to the north or to the station in the west?

If you go north for about 1.5 km there is a couple of big boulders in the water near the next Park Rynie caravan park, seems like a nice deepwater point any action there normaly?

Thanx for all the info!

Sorry Mark just not concentrating!!!!

1. The station is to the south

2. The 1.5 km boulders is between HappyW and Rocky bay Caravan Park!!

Sorry Angler X !! .. been busy ..Yes Submarine at South end of Park .. submerged Rock .. exposed at low .. about50m South is the large Rock about 20m out .. called Pinkie Rock .. between these two is Fuku Bay. (Distances hard as I have seen the waves only lapping on Pinkie Rock and seen waves lapping the dunes .. changes so much) Yes the station is to the South around the bend .. in a large Bay area. About 1 km walk .. maybe 800m .. The Boulders to the North are Ahbrahms Rock .right on the point looking North (Just past that is Rocky Bay ... Halfway from Happies to the Boulders ... So half way to Mzimai River ... .. if the Beach and Tides are right you will make out Rocky areas .(Sometimes sanded over). either side of this .. great .. I have pulled the Sea Pike .. Grunter .. Salmon and lost a big Prodigal there a while back .. Guys have got a lot of Garrick there too. In March I pulled a 5kg Garrick just in front of the lagoon (Just North of the Flats .. Chalets. This time of year good chance of Guitars or Sand Shark right in front of the chalets .. depending on the Sand Banks. Kob in Fuku Bay at night and also just North of Submarine at night dependent on tide .. incoming at about 8pm .. also see some nice ones come out at night right in front of pub .. and in front of lagoon .. just South of the Rocky bit . .. Quite often I spin over The Bricks but have to know more or less where, The Bricks are about 50m past Pinkie Rock on way to station right over the rocks pulling spoon quite fast to avoid hookups .. LOL put plenty White Metal there !! LOL .. half tide is best . Garrick and Shad there often .. I may pop up to Happies on Saturday 6th Dec .. from Shelley ... Leaving tmorrow 5th but staying at Shelley. Just scout around and find the rips and channels .. Banks between. As I say the spots change.

Lot of Sharks at Scottburough and Kelso station and Umkomaas, allthe rivers coming down with brown water cause of all the rain! Few shad around but more frequent the last day or two
