Son 1 lost his Lowrance Elite 5 copmbo when he had to puch through a wave at Bazley. The unit washed up about an hour later and some kids handed in in at the caravan park. He left a reward of R150.00 (all he had on him) and the finder worked fine for about 2 months. Testing on Sunday (going to Vidal on Wednesday) the Elite 5 packed up, dead, dood el morto. We contacted Fishton and bought a Elite 5 DSI combo. Went to Lowrance this afternoon to pick it up and told them the story and asked if they could have a look at fixing the Elite 5 if it would be worth fixing. The guy said "Hold on we'll need to open it up and have a look". He came out about 5 minutes later with a unit in a plastic bag (I thought it was the old one) and said " Heres a new one its still under warranty". No quibble no questions, Who says Lowrance service is poor ?

:first:dban::dban::dban:So now he has a brand new Elite 5 combo and a brand new Elite 5 DSi combo

Life is all about service. I posted a thread about two years ago, when they replace a faulty unit. No questions asked. Just for that I am a confirmed Lowrance fanatic and will always support the guys in Durban.
