Some leader questions.

For 20lb braid, what pound leader should I use? Can regular mono be used as leader or must it be flouro?
This for general fishing and spinning of piers and surf.

On 20lb I would go 30lb leader, and if fishing is very tuff I would go 20lb or 25lb.

I like using flouro but you could use normal mono as well. 100% flouro is expensive I like to use Double x shock leader, I have had very good success on it.

Depends on a few different factors. If you were targeting clean fighting fish like leeries you could go with 20/25lb leader. For fish more likely to dive for cover and for fishing over foul terrain you'll want to step up the leader strength accordingly.

Personally I use mono only, I don't bother with fluoro as I've never seen any benefit in terms of results.

.50 maxima on 20lb braid, .55 or .60 on 30lb...
