*** SOLD ***

I have decided to sell my 1 year old Benguela 17 CC which is the perfect allrounder - she is at home both on the sea and skiing on the dam. You will not find a better sea going boat that is still able to perform on a dam pulling tubes, ski's etc. I have been 15nm offshore regularly and never once felt unsafe. But I want to go up to 40nm for Yellowfin tuna on a regular basis and there are better suited boats (larger) for that application, so she is on the market!

2012 Angler Benguela 17 CC (5.4 meter) - 4 years left of warranty.
2012 Galvanized Anglermate Trailer (licensed until March 2014)
2012 Honda BF60 Four Strokes x 2 (80 hours) - 2 years left of warranty.

Optional Extras fitted in addition to the standard fixtures, which you can find on www.australmarine.co.za:

• Angler T-Top with 4 x “rocket launcher style” rod holders fitted with the aerial for the VHF radio.
• Ski Pole for skiing
• Hydraulic steering
• 4 x 25L Tanks
• Water/Fuel Filter
• New isolator Switch to disconnect the batteries
• All Category C Equipment (15NM). Just had annual survey and valid until March 2014.
• Extra Rod Holders in Gunwhales
• New gang panel with 6 switches
• Fusion Marine Sound System with Fusion Marine speakers
• Garmin 421S Fishfinder / GPS Combo with G2 Blue Vision card
• Lowrance VHF
• Navigation Lights
• Bilge Bump
• Motor Trim Synchronization Toggle Switch
• Extra Cup Holders
• Extra Cushion for bow area when cruising on river / dam
• Top quality Boat Cover made specifically for this boat.
• Top quality Motor Covers made specifically for the motors.
• Trailer bearings checked – all OK (08/02/2013).

The thought has crossed my mind a few times to be honest. But regular trips to the tuna grounds calls for a bigger boat sadly.

Wife not happy!

Howzit Bennie. I have noticed that you have in that past been interested in a second, smaller boat. They don’t come any better than this to be honest. The one symptom of mono’s that you often mention is rolling at anchor or whilst drifting … not this boat. Three guys can stand on one side and you don’t get that roll to the side effect, not even close. I think it may have something to do with the hull being a variable V so it is flatter towards the back for added stability and “sharp” in the front to cut through waves.

Going forward, not necessarily a cat but most well rated boats in the 20/21’ range (which is what I am looking at) seem to be cats. The usual suspects; Z-Craft, Tom Cat, Butt Cat ….

You making me an offer?

Eish, I have 2 boats already, I need to get rid of my Explorer 465 because my family has grown and she is too small. The kosi is too big to handle when I am alone with the kids. I am betwwen a rock and a hard place.

Hi.

So nice to see these pictures of the Benguela 17 on this post. I bought this boat about two months ago through a boat shop in St Francis. Sold it yesterday to someone in St Francis and ordered its big brother , the Benguela 19cc. Had an absolute jol on it but needed some extra space. Can't wait until I get the new one. Going into the mould on Monday. Benguela's rule.

Congrats again Steve! She's going to look awesome in those colours! Reckon the tail will come closer all on their own just to have a look!

OJ, yes that was a good boat.
Its funny how life works out but I moved from Cape Town and now that Benguela 17 would be ideal for me again! I saw it being towed from St F to PE at Easter behind a white Caravelle ... was that you? I saw it again at Kerwyn two weeks ago. A bit sad that I let it go. Enjoy the 19!
