Certain Berkley products can be used as a static bait (ie leave it there and wait for the fish).

The ones that can be used are the peeler crab, sea flea, squid ( a la ESA for Rockcod) and sand worm although all of the above can be given a bit of action.

The rest of the range are stick baits you control them, the action in the minnows is imparted by the rod tip.

Slater, Reefman's rig is the standard. 4lb Fireline to 10lb flourocarbon leader with 2x Biminis and a cat's paw to join and a 1/8 ounce 1/0 hook (tied onto leader with a rapala knot) and a Gulp 2" Pearl Minnow is all you'll need. That other rig looks handy for fishing off a boat - neve thought of that before!
