Hi All.

This being my first post, hi to all! I am a keen diver (rescue, deep, wreck, nitrox) and enjoy the water. I find myself at the coast ever so often and want to take up Spearfishing for when I am bored out of my mind in hotel rooms).

I am in Sodwana between 11 and 19 November. I am free between the 11th and 15th as my friends are on a diving course, and I have some free time to spare (entire DAYS actually). The rest I am doing my skippers as I am buying a 17ft boat).

I would really like to be taught the ropes, if there is anyone out there willing to help, or know of charters going out during that time, I will gladly pay my share).

Thanks for some great articles and pieces of advice thus far on this forum!

A good format is ideally 3 divers. One diver dives for the fish. After a nominal
time like 30 seconds the second diver dives to about 18m watching the
deeper diver. When a fish is shot the 2nd diver takes the gun from the first letting them ascend unhindered while the second diver, fresher can “fight” the fish and surface with the gun. The 3rd diver is on hand to check the first diver comes up safely and also dives to help the second diver and take the gun if necessary. So the guys can rotate with each diver knowing that their buddies have their back. So choose your dive buddies carefully.

I recently read the great paper on SWB posted as a sticky. Great read.

It states the above quote, so if you need a third person hanging around the float - I'll gladly be it it. My rescue diver qualification might be handy.
