so we went down to tugela mouth the 16th to 21 July we stayed at tugela mouth resort. very nice place and close access to the beach. we arrived late on Monday due to some bad roads we chose. we started early on Tuesday morning just outside the resort we found a nice hole. no luck and the wind started to pick up around 9 in the morning so we left for some breakfast. and decided to check out zinkwazi beach i got a few small blacktails and opblaasies as we call it. and nothing more after that we went to st.lucia.
on Wednesday it was raining the whole day and got some very bad wind so we stayed in. Thursday the wind was alot beter and we met some locals at the mouth. we slid out live mullets in hopes for a Garrick or 2 but no luck and the wind started chowing us again. so we decided friday is the big one we went out early in the morning to the mouth and met oom hennie there he stays in tugela. he slid out a mullet and we threw some nice big mullet baits out. after around 50min or so the toppies reel started running like something from another planet and vas one big garrick of 21 kg came out. very excited some more locals joined in and oom hennie got another run but missed it. the rest of the day it was very quiet and nothing happend. so i hooked up a chocka on my stradic and exceller and fished close by the lighthouse by the rocks just as the tide was coming in around 4ish and got a nice 2.5kg stumpie. we had a lekka braai that night
