So some okes has asked me how you build your own slides, i'll show my way that was taught to me by a good fishing buddy. Use it dont use it.......

First you'll need good pliers, a vice grip, a hard bead, power swivel, 2mm tig rod(depends on what you target, I use 1.6mm for edibles) small weight and a screw driver.

Put the screw driver in the vice grip, and hol the tig rod with the pliers so you can start making the spring...

I then prefer 5 turns in the spring, it fits the beads nice and tight and there is no movement in the clip as you'll see later on...

I then take the longest part of the tig rod and bend it perpendicular with the screw driver, so that it runs nice and straight for the bead to fit nicely...

Same is done to the other side...

I then put the spring back on the screw driver so that the bead fits perfectly with some adjustments off course. This is what the spring should look like from the back...

Make sure the bead fits....

Then give it a 90 degree turn and put the bead in....

Make the little hook so your slide can clip in nicely....

Bend the wire about 45 degrees down and insert your weight....

Insert your power swivel and bend till the wires cross each other...

Finnish off with 2 or 3 turns and theres your slide!!!!

There's your R5 slide, if anyone can give me any ideas for stopper rings without using a welding machine, please do so!!!!

Just a note.

Those glass beads break under strain. I have been told that the plastic ones are much better.

Cool note taken, i've seen a plastic bead that literally got torn by a raggie Shawn caught the one day, thats the reason for switching. Will look a bit more to find the appropriate bead.

nice tut.
but i prefer 1.6 mm stailess spring steel.
tig wire bends and stay there.
spring wire returns.

1.8 mm is better, 2.0mm is real hard to bend and form and shape.

it's just to get the stainless spring steel wire.

Nice man. I use plastic beads. Haven't had a problem
U can up ur sinker weight for bigger baits too

As for stopper rings look at jigging split rings. Just add swivel.

The end result, works out about R20 for the whole trace!. Will play around with some of the stopper ring ideas, thanks a lot!!!
