So its been a while since I posted a story on Seal

So its been a while since I posted a story on Sealine. Fishing has been bad (Due to easy venues/luigat visvang). Decided to go and have a look at Boggomsbaai last Saturday, and the sea was really working well, had nice colour to it and shouted Kobbie/Raggie. On that same day just after I left Stapies and Robbert managed a nice Rag and Diamond Ray

So this morning the decision was easy, I would go to Boggomsbaai at 5 O Clock with my old man and Pierre who is new to fishing, they would try for eds and I would try my luck at a nice toothie.

Getting there we saw a shoal of fish being cornered by dolphins, never figured out what it was but if there was food, well then there should be sharks I hoped. Rigged up my Assasin Heavy with my Fin Nor 30(Hulle kan se wat hulle wil vir daai katrol het ek respek) and thru a leke cast after as 15m wade right into the drop. Slided a yellowtail and put the rod in the holder to go and rig up my other rod.

Walked halfway and heard a sudden Grrrrrr pause grrrrrrr. Looked at the rod and thought its the waves I should tighten the drag, when in typical raggie manor the rod started bouncing. Ran to the rod reeled up the slack line and fish on!! Played the fish for about 40 minutes (Hy was harregat wou nie oor die drop kom nie) and eventually saw the rag in the shallows. Gave the rod to my dad and ran in to tail him. When I grabbed the tail I saw eish, hom gan ek nie alleen sleep nie, and luckely pierre came to help.

Pulled out this nice fat female of 213 pcl, which calculates to a whopping 188kg's!!!

My New PB!!

So a bit kapoet I decide to rig the other rod and put another head out. Rig up my other Assasin and Tor 30, slide a head, put the rod in the stand and two seconds, grrr grrrr. Reel up the slack and fish onnnnn........ Felt it was a smaller fish so gave the rod to Pierre for a bit so he can feel what it feels like to have a fishie on the other side of the line. 20 min later I land another female rag of 172 pcl which calculates to 94kg's.

So by this time I really want to get Pierre onto a fish, get both rods in the water, get a pull and the hook doesn't set... Sorry man next time. Never the less I think it was a great experience for a first time angler, as well as myself. Awesome morning! Thanks Stapies for the spot and thanks Shawn for introducing me to this awesome sport! Getting educated as I go along lol!!

I know exactly where i'm going tomorrow night......

Cool thanks a lot. My next target will be a 200kg raggie, and then I'll focus on some bronzies. Been given a hiding twice now on Robberg, a quick 5min pakslae and a 3hour pakslae. But mentally I'll get there haha.

To me the best part today was sharing it with my dad!!! He was more excited than me and that feeling was priceless!!!::S

Hey ek weet daar het eergister 'n leerie en paar kobbies uitgekom, ma die manne kla hulle word heeltyd afgebyt so die haaie is dik. Daars ook paar mooi elwe wat uitgekom het.
