As we are on the topic of snakeheads I thought I might post some pictures of a few recent catches from here in Taiwan. A friend and I target these guys exclusively as they are tremendously hard fighting fish and really exciting to catch as you target them with top water lures. The hits are explosive and hard. I must also add that they are note the easiest fish to catch! We target 2 species, one is the Striped Snakehead or Haruan, these guys don't get very big, up to about 4kg at the very most, we usually catch them in them in the 200g to 1.5kg class, 1.5kg being a really big Haruan. The second species that we target is the Giant Snakehead or Toman, these guys are rumored to grow up to 20kg! I'm not sure that they actually do get that big, as the IFGA word record is at around 10kg only.
