sliding lines

I have been sliding for about a month now, but have lost a few big sharks due to the line snapping half way down as they heading out to sea. been using KFGA .50 and .55 yellow and orange respectively.

My question is what are the best High Abrasion lines?

KFGA is an excelent line, what leader knot are u using?

use a wind on leader and a catspaw to connect. randomly half way down the line has snapped, have checked my eyes but its a brand new sharky.

Howzit it could be ur getting burnt off or if the shark is pulling line and then it snaps it could be that ur hurting the line when u shake down. Burning off results from the slide not going down all the way and when u get a pull the slide rubs the line under pressure and burns it off . The other way is if u hold very tight when u shake the line it can hurt the line at ur tip eye other than that it could be a bum spool of line

Oh alpha seagrand is almost bulletproof. But kfga is good as is suffix sinergy

true, could also be that the line is wound too loose onto the spool,and start cutting in under tension,or maybe too tight,putting it under tension and limiting the stretch ability....

whats the more common line diameter to use  0.5, 0.55, 0.60

Could be a bad batch or old line, also could be a problem i had last december where the line was being damaged by overwinds.
