If you're after aything that bites then use Nylon Coated wire 60-70lbs on the trace and the last 1m of the line to the stop ring put steel on. (Here the Garrick do take the nylon coated steel but it also gives you a chance if a Couta hits the bait or you get a shark)
If you're only after edibles then go nylon straight through the rid and leader, 1mm will also do as leader.
The disadvantage of fishing shark with this rig is that the livebait is much more mobile in the water and you often get bitten of on your mainline as the shark chases the bait as it gets your mainline in it's teeth tryint to swallow the bait.
