sl20sh

I have a little sl20sh.

sometimes when i put pressure on the reel (ex. reeling in something heavy) the spool seems to get stuck, or at least I think that is what happens. when i put it into free spool again it remains stuck for a short while then it starts function normally again.

It does not happen often, but it is kind of irritating. the reel is regularly serviced and there is no visible corrosion or anything that i can find. does anyone know what the problem might be?

Kort en kragtig - jou katrol is @#%$@%

Sal se na al die pakslae wat ons in die klipgat gekry het, het of die frame of die spoel seergekry en nou sodra jy bietjie tention op die katrol sit flex hy.

I think you just have some grit getting inbetween the frame and spool. Happens to my reels as well sometimes, like when fishing a windy day, or the reel was dunked by accident, or something of the sort. I wouldnt worry about it, just fish the grit away:)

weakened frame perhaps? might be distorting under pressure and then jamming the spool and once pressure released resumes it's normal position after initially remaining distorted.I had a penn 500 that used to do this now and then, it also screamed like a banshee on casting.

The old Penn 500 with the 2x single bars ,use to twist from old age and by using the quick release system . Especially when its very tight to fit or remove.

But after all these reels where and is still the "Caterpillar" of the sea
