Skeg replacement

Howzit guys, does anyone know where I can get a new skeg welded to my yammy lower end?
I should get my engine block back in a week or two, so was checking out the lower unit and why the skeg guard was bulging so much.....
Well I removed the skeg guard with a screw driver and not much force seems it was epoxied on and all the aluminum is vrot
the lower unit has about 1 inch of old skeg left but not sure does this in Natal?
Also hoping its not too expensive.

Our one "skeg" is shot too, but thats because I rolled the boat off the trailer and onto the slipway on the maiden voyage LOL..Those rollers worked a bit too well..anyways, we just epoxied the skegguards over the dinged up alu and bobs ur uncle..and put on new anodes as the old ones were pretty much non existent..Maybe you can just clean up the corroded metal and put anodes and just epoxy a new guard on?

I dont see any oil leaking out anywhere so either there is no oil or the case and seals are still ok.
Im going to have to get a bigger screw driver before I make the screws round.

LOL on my maiden voyage with my 2nd duck I forgot to pick the motor up and dragged the skeg all the way up the slipway..... lucky those had skeg guards on. 


then on my 1st duck I cracked my johnsons skeg in the vaal dam back in 2016 when the dam was so low, not sure how I did that, but suddenly the boat pulled badly to the left.  not prop damage though so dont understand that so well.

but I that was an easy fix, this one is missing the whole skeg

So this week I got the wire brush out and got rid of all the corrosion on the remains of the skeg.
and will take a chance and mount one of my spare skeg guards
I have drilled 5 x 5mm holes in the remains of the old skeg and I think as long as I dont drag it up the slip way or hit a log it should be good.
Budget is a little tight and I have not found anyone that can weld on a new skeg yet
I still want to get this boat in the water this month so the yammy may have to wait another month or two.

I did also manage to get the screw lose and check the oil.

I was impressed she had no water in there and oil was a lovely yellow honey colour.
