This is a non return slide trace.

 

What you need is on the pick below.

 

The steel trace is a 2mm industrial stainless steel trace, trace can be about 80 cm long  and the bleeding wire from the stopper ring about 50 cm

Slide the cable trough the cable guide and hook, pull the steel trace through the crimp as shown

I use pliers as below, take a hammer hit it couple of times not to hard but make sure it is tight

Take sharp pliers and kink the crimp a couple of times making sure it is kinked hard enough

Use shrink rap to finish it of so it looks good as well

Use heat shrink to cover top of hook so the cable will not slip, I used snell knot, very difficult as the cable is thick but this hook will go nowhere

Once above is done, slide your squid, heat shrink and then your crimp down the cable before attaching it to you slide.

The wire was to short so I could not used the cable guide but follow pic 2

Stopper ring, I used 42 kg bleeding leader wire so when I connect my mine leader line from my reel I can join the bleeding leader to my main leader of 1 mm with a normal double Blood Knot

Used double overhand knot

I twisted the cable around it self and used a lighter to burn the cable so it can fuse together and not come lose.

Pic 16 all done, I know my slide is a bit short but it is all I had. I have tested the strength of the slide and gave it a  pull as hard as I could with the hook hooked to my balcony and believe me it is mega strong.

That steel seems a bit heavy for my liking. The pics below are slides made using 200lb Carbon coated steel. No crimps (big weakpoint IMO) all knots.

I have about 15 other slides made the same as yours, it is just this wire is to thick to make the needed knots, nice shark mate....mine will come one day...cheers.
